Staff "Staff of Life"

"Staff of Life" is an unabashed study of male anatomy, rendered in watercolor, in a style reminiscent of religious stained glass.  The image celebrates male sexuality as something sacred, an image not often seen in contemporary art, where male anima is often portrayed as something ugly or sinister.  In general, Carmen's work indicates that while she is still experimenting to find a vision that is her own, she in willing to take risks to create imagery that is poignant and meaningful.
