Navajo or Zuni Squash Blossom Necklace ( includes matching earrings ) Lightweight squash blossom necklace made up of compressed globular beads with 12 floral rosettes and central Naja pendant. 36 stones (10 teardrop, 16 round, and 4 oval). 144 stones total. Workmanship is particularly fine. Exceptional detail and elegance. The piece is an early example of petite point or needle point design, with pendants decorated with small oval stones. Other details include silver beading between settings and three stamped rosettes with raised centers on the Naja. Circa 1950 Purchased in Gallup New Mexico in 1953 total length 22", medallions approx 1" long x 3/4" wide, Naja approx 2" diameter Scribed in thin lines on underside of Naja 487 OAKK excellent condition with excellent patina. We do not clean our vintage silver pieces, in order not to alter the patina. We leave the decision to clean or polish up to the buyer.
