Exquisite example of Gloria's work, combining traditional form and design with a modern flare. Polychrome pot is painted in black and red over cream slip, tinted a beautiful golden hue by soft fire clouding.  Body is scattered with traditional water and cloud designs, clan symbols, and stylized petroglyphs. Wonderful!

Gloria is a member of the Rabbitt / Tobacco Clan.  She has been an active potter since 1980, known for her innovative style infused with bird, rain, and cloud designs. Gloria is largely self taught, although she credits potters Rainy Naha and Fawn Navasie as teachers and mentors.  Her painting is exceptionally fine, and her polishing extremely smooth. Her finished pots are the height of quality and design.

Gloria has appeared in many publications including Arizona Highways, Hopi-Tewa Potters by Gregory Schaaf, and Art of the Hopi, Contemporary Journeys on Ancient Pathways by Jerry and Lois Essary Jacka.

She has  won numerous awards, including Best of Division, Curators Award at the Museum of Northern Arizona Hopi Marketplace, several awards at the Hopi Marketplace, and 3rd Place for miniatures at Santa Fe Indian Market.
