Detail of hand and olla

Fabulous image of an Indian maiden contemplating pictographs painted on a clay pot.  The maiden is a classic Fisher beauty with a wistful, thoughtful expression.  Linework is expressive, heavy and gestural around borders of drawing, soft and fine on hand and face.  Underdrawing with very fine pencil can be seen under heavier charcoal pencil used to complete the image.

Good condition overall.  Moderate age yellowing. Tiny triangular puncture mark on figure's right shoulder. Damage is difficult to notice, and does not detract from the beauty of the image.

Professionally matted and framed in golden yellow painted wooden frame with green pin-striping.  Frame backing paper has been cut to examine drawing.
