Sagger Weaves

Eaton's "sagger weaves" are hanging ceramic sculptures, consisting of a number of extruded clay tubes suspended on wire from a thin steel rod.  The tubes are sagger fired, a process in which the clay is coated with a thin white slip, and fired along  with materials such as straw, twigs, or newspaper combined with metal oxides.

This combination of materials creates random patterns on the surface of the clay.  A few glazed elements are included, adding colored accents to each piece.
