Slab Teapot #1 2003
Heavy slab-constructed stoneware teapot with carved horizontal bands inspired by rock formations in the American Southwest. Glaze is a mottled brown overall, with two swatches of blue on the smooth sides. The teapot is a new direction for the artist, and although a bit heavy, the powerful texture and simple form is aesthetically exciting. |
approx 9" long x 4" wide x 12" high (A few glazed-in drying cracks where handle attaches to body.) |
