Mid 20th century Southeast Asian hunting crossbow

Collected in 1946

Origin is most likely Vietnam, Laos, or Cambodia. Hardwood construction with twisted fiber bowstring.  Very nicely crafted with tapered body, smooth finish and attractive reddish brown color.  Narrow slot for small arrows, probably used with poisoned darts.

Very Good Condition

 Trigger is missing.  Black thread visible in photo ( passing through the trigger slot, and at center of bowstring) was used for display at Skipper Kent's restaurant in San Francisco.  Most likely used for jungle hunting of monkeys, birds, etc.

dimensions: length 19 3/4", length of bow 39 1/4", height 1 3/4" at widest point.

bowstring is in good condition with some minor fraying.
