This is a large and intricately designed Christmas tin, most likely a fruitcake tin.  The tin is encircled with a repeating reindeer design, entwined in wonderfully detailed Christmas filigree.  Lots of delightful tiny details like mistletoe, squirrels, and cardinals intertwined in the decorative line work.  The lid portrays a concentric design with holly leaves, pheasant, and reindeer.  Ample use of raised relief and gold metallic inks.  Tiny print on rim of lid reads; The Metal Box Company Ltd.  BW&M Branch, Mansfield, Container made in England.
