Beautiful antique Chinese rock crystal brush rest in the form of a  mountain or rock formation with inscribed wave design.  Hand carved with wonderful clarity, and smoothed surface like melting ice. Valleys between peaks provide hollows for resting up to four pens or brushes. Wave-like designs etched around base, giving the impression of a mountain rising from the sea or above the clouds. Fitted hardwood stand included.

approx 4" wide x 2 1/2" high x 1" deep

Very good condition.  A few small colored inclusions in the crystal, A bit of grime in the nooks and crannies, and  and some tiny flecks of what is probably ink on the surface from use.
