Antique Japanese Ivory Bottle with Ornate Carving Circa 19th century AD collected circa 1930 SOLD Museum quality, stunningly crafted, antique long-neck ivory bottle decorated with lion head handles and four figures. Figures on one side hold a scroll decorated with floral designs. Two dancing figures on opposite side. Lion head handles with separate rings, carved from one piece of elephant ivory. Cherry blossom design carved on one side, another botanical design on the other, probably a lily. Beautiful detail and patina. Full bodied form with extended neck. |
