Grouping of four well crafted, antique ivory long-neck geese.  Expressive, flowing lines and wonderful engraved feather detail.  Each bird is carved in a different pose.  Please note, these pieces are Okimono, Japanese miniature sculpture, not netsuke or ojime.

All four waterfowl are signed. Artist unknown.

average dimensions:

 1 1/2" high x 1 3/8" long x 7/8" deep

Lovely golden yellow patina.

 Excellent condition.

In addition to its usefulness as a domesticated animal, the goose is also known as a fierce fighter and excellent watchdog.  Geese also appear in Japanese folk-tales.
