Charity Information

GOLDEN CHAIN THEATRE

Golden Chain Theatre is a non-profit community theatre located in Oakhurst.  Since 1972 Golden Chain has been dedicated to providing 19th century historic and melodramatic presentations, special dramatic performances, and instruction in theatre arts.  The theatre is in need of a new roof with a cost of over $30,000 for the repairs.  Artspace artists have all donated works that will be entered in the gallery’s silent auction.  Fifty percent of proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to the theatre for their “Raise the Roof” fund.  Bidding will commence on November 15th, and will close at 5 PM on Sunday, December 12th.  Bidders need not be present to win.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Toys for Tots is a Marine Corps sponsored program in which toys are collected and distributed to local organizations and individual families with  children in need.  Visitors to the gallery who donate any new, unused toy with a value of 5.00 or more will receive a ticket for the “Art Gift Basket” raffle with a total value over two hundred dollars.

About Artspace Gallery

Artspace offers an impressive selection of photography, prints, ceramics, and sculpture by nine local artists.  Artspace members include photographers Kerby Smith, John Rogers, Keith Sauer, David Hurst, and Heidi Vetter, printmaker Jonathan Bock, ceramic artists Adrian John Castelo and Tiwi Wood, and sculptor Norma Rogers.

Unlike a traditional gallery that consigns an artist’s work and takes a large commission on sales, Artspace members have a vested interest in the gallery, contributing to gallery expenses in exchange for the regular display of their work.  The goal of the Artspace showroom is to create an environment where artists work together, inspire and support each other, and have the opportunity to collaborate on joint projects and exhibitions.
