"U Like Um" apples reflects America's fascination with cowboys, Indians, and the wild west.  The label combines humor with a Native American theme.  The text playfully references Native American textile designs, and the slogan makes use of a humorous stereotype of Indian speech, typical in movies and pulp literature of the time.  The mounted Indian Chief, hunting a pair of fleeing deer with his bow, defines the image as uniquely American.
