This "Butterfly" brand bean label is an early example of label design from the end of the 19th century.  It is a particularly beautiful label with a visually stunning style.  The illustration is busier than most, with a complex border that breaks the image into two distinct regions.  The left region focuses on the product; a plump, healthy grouping of bean pods, and the right region focuses on the "Butterfly" brand.   The gorgeously colored butterfly floats effortlessly over a field of poppies.  This combination of bold graphic design, rich color, and natural themes makes this label a superb example of  the Art Nuevo style.
