Large 18K Gold Orchid Pin

In the 1940s, Skipper Kent claimed to own one of the largest Orchid collection in the United States, and shared his enthusiasm for the rare and beautiful flower with his wife Lucille through a stunning grouping of orchid design jewelry.  

Beautifully designed orchid pin / brooch with embossed and engraved sheet gold petals with three central white pearl.

This pin is one of two purchased by Skipper for Lucille, the first in Chili in 1944, along with a matching set of earrings, and a stunning orchid and pearl bracelet. The second, larger lapel pin ( pictured here ) was purchased in San Francisco in 1956.
