Atlatl is a hand woven beaded bag. The blue arrow design is inspired by the atlatl, or spear throwing stick from pre-Columbian America. The bag has two straps, a single strand beaded neck strap, and smaller chain link strap with hinged clasps. The bag is constructed of translucent, iridescent orange, opaque blue, maroon, and metallic copper seed beads. Pendants are tipped with red-orange Polish fire crystals. Like most of Ann's work, the piece has a wonderful sparkle, difficult to capture in the photograph. |
