North Fork Mono Indian hand woven redbud and willow cradle board ( Baby Basket ) by Rose ( Bethel ) Smith, daughter of North Fork Mono Elder Rosalie Bethel. 

The Pasak is the first basket made for a newborn child.  The baby is passed through the hoop at birth, symbolizing the child's entry into the world.
