"Medicine Dance" depicts a complex Native American scene with multiple figures.  The central figure is a seated male figure in a feathered headdress.  His hands hover over a circular design, possibly a sand painting or painted drum head.  Several important figures seated in chairs are lined up behind the central figure, and all are surrounded by a grouping of woman and girls, some focused on the ongoing ceremony and others on their own activities.  An eagle dancer with arms raised moves forward toward the grouping from the left center, while other figures pass in the distance.
