Brass sheath with applied leather cover. 32" curved blade with German maker's mark E & F Horster / Solingen. Blade in very good condition. Beautiful etched and blued blade with intricate floral design. Details include two officers on horseback, artillery caisson with six horses towing a cannon, and artillery badge with cannon and ramrods on opposite side. Owner's notes indicate the sword to be a Russian Imperial artillery officer's sword. E&F Horster did make swords for the Russian military, but it is possible the sword could be an Imperial German sword.
