|
excellent condition dimensions 4 3/8" high x 2 1/4" wide x 1" thick wooden base included base label reads: 1965 #7 Jade antique on wood stand. Although Skipper labeled the carving as antique, our research indicates it to be a mid-century reproduction. |
circa 1950 Collected in Mexico in 1965. Nicely carved, dark green jade or greenstone Teotihuacan style standing figurine with oblong eyes, braided hair, and arms folded at the waist. Classic period, circa 500 AD. Braided hair and breasts indicate it is probably a female diety figure, although gender is difficult to determine. |
