This beautiful stepped-neck square vase is decorated in the Mayan Aztec style. The vase design retains a simplicity of form influenced by the craftsman era.  The glazing on the piece is particularly nice, a good example of pre-1970 rutile glaze.  Bottom is heavily scoured, obscuring most of the Frankoma mark.  This appears to have been a relatively common practice at the pottery on earlier pieces, presumably done to smooth out irregularities on the bottom of the piece.
