This  desert gold teapot is from the "Wagon Wheel" line, introduced in 1942 and discontinued in 1988.  The Sepulpa clay and large mark dates the teapot to the mid to late 1950s. Although it is essentially the same design as the earlier Prairie Green teapot we have listed, it is about half an inch wider. The wagon wheel pattern, like many of Frankoma's designs, was influenced by the romance of the American West, and gave tribute to the pioneers, farmers, and wagon trains that shaped the history of the country.
